Surprising Things at Disney World after Reopening!

Hi all and welcome back! Did ya hear?! Disney World theme parks are officially reopened! We are just as curious as you about how things are currently being run at the most magical place on Earth. Is it still magical? Well, here are our top 5 most surprising things at Disney World after its reopening!

#1 Cinderella Castle Repaint

Located in the middle of Magic Kingdom stands the grand Cinderella Castle! This iconic structure is currently receiving a new coat of paint with rose gold accents and striking blue spires. It is very interesting to see Disney World cast members use a paint-by-number approach on the bricks! Check it out in the great video by Mickey Views:

#2 No Entry Fingerprint Scanners

Our next surprising thing after the Disney World reopening is right when you enter the parks. It seems almost like a rite of passage to be able to scan your MagicBand and finger when entering a Disney World theme park. Well, for sanitary reasons, the fingerprint scanners are blocked off. We were happy to see this because it is one less thing guests would need to touch. Plus, it saves time because those fingerprint scanners could be finicky!

#3 Not all Dining Locations Reopened

That’s right! Not all of the guest favorite dining (table, quick, or snack service) locations are back up and running. For instance, Casey’s Corner, the legendary corner spot to grab a hot dog on Main Street USA, remains closed for now! My favorite table service location, Garden Grill in Epcot, is also not reopening currently. Check out Disney Tourist Blog for their complete list!

#4 Face Masks Required at all Times

Another surprising thing is that face masks are required at all times after the Disney World reopening. Yes, that even includes guests experiencing water rides! You’ll be required to keep that mask on for your drop down Splash Mountain. Just be sure to wear a mask that is comfortable and bring extra in your park bag!

#5 No FastPass+ and Extra Magic Hours

The last of our top 5 surprising things at Disney World after reopening is that FastPass+ and Extra Magic Hours are no longer offered. Here is Disney’s official statement:

FastPass+ and Extra Magic Hours: As a result of the COVID-19 impact, the FastPass+ service will be suspended for the time being as we plan to use additional queue space to manage capacity at our attractions and maintain physical distancing. We will automatically cancel existing FastPass+ selections and share any future updates on the service at a later date. Also, please note that upon reopening, Extra Magic Hours will be temporarily suspended.

Which are you most surprised about?!

Tune in next week for an all new post!

Until then… Cheers!!
