Tips for Returning to Disney World After Reopening

Hi folks and welcome back to another brand new blog post! With the reopening of Disney World just around the corner, I wanted to talk about things to prepare for before venturing back to the parks. Thus, here are my tips for returning to Disney World after reopening!

#1 Masks

If you aren’t used to wearing them already, definitely become acquainted with face masks! I feel like masks have become a new fashion accessory and, as such, there are many to choose from. They range from disposable, fabric, and to some that are more like bandanas. The last thing you will want to do is fiddle around with yours (or your kids’) when on a Disney World vacation. So, try a few out and see what works for you beforehand! Oh! And don’t forget, ShopDisney is selling super cute Disney themed masks for the whole family!

Pro Tip: It’s hot, humid, and rainy in Orlando right now, so you’ll want to pack extra masks in your park bag!

#2 More Things Online

In an effort to be more sanitary, a larger portion of your next Disney World vacation will have an online component! If a restaurant doesn’t have paper menus, expect there to be QR codes. In case you aren’t familiar with using QR codes, here are great articles for apple iOS and android devices.

Also, make sure you know your way around the My Disney Experience app! You’ll need this nifty app on your smart phone to use mobile ordering, make or rearrange FastPasses, make or alter Advance Dining Reservations (ADRs), and partake in virtual attraction queues!

Finally, Disney will be encouraging guests to use cashless payment options including MagicBands. If you are staying on-property, it is easy to link a credit or debit card to your account for contactless payment on your Band. Check out our guide to using MagicBands around the parks!

#3 Patience

Another one of my tips for enjoying Disney World after reopening is to have more patience! There will likely be longer lines as attractions will be seating less people to encourage social distancing. There will be temperature screenings as well! Plus, all other guests and the Cast Members will be learning these new practices alongside you. If you go into your vacation knowing the experience will be different compared to pre-pandemic life, it’ll make your next vacation be that much better! 🙂

Regardless of COVID-19, you and your family will certainly make amazing memories at Disney World after the reopening! Be sure to read up on our tried and true vacation planning steps for your next trip to The World!

Until next time… Cheers!!
