Hi all and welcome back to another full length post! Can you believe the Disney World reopening is in just a few days?! Magic and Animal Kingdoms reopen on July 11, 2020 followed shortly by Epcot and Hollywood Studios on July 15, 2020. It almost doesn’t seem possible. So, today, here is a list that you don’t want to forget for the Disney World Reopening!
#1 Tickets & Park Reservations
Don’t forget that for the Disney World reopening, you’ll need BOTH a park ticket (or annual pass) and a park reservation. Be sure to check out our post on the Disney World Park Pass Reservation system to learn more!
Important! It is rumored that Disney World ticket sales for 2020 resume TODAY (7/9/20)!
#2 Masks, Temp. Checks & Social Distancing
In keeping guests and Cast Members safe, Disney is instituting new protocols. These include:
- Requirement of facial masks for guests 2+ years old
- Temperature checks at theme park and Disney Springs entrances
- Social distancing markers including increased use of mobile ordering, virtual queues, and cashless payments
Pro Tip #1: Make sure you have your smart phone ready to go with the My Disney Experience App!! Have those Magic Bands ready as well!
Pro Tip #2: Don’t forget to try out masks before going to the Disney World reopening! You’ll want to wear what is most comfortable while enjoying the theme parks. Also, bring extra along in your park bag!
#3 Some Activities & Experiences Cancelled
One of the things you don’t want to forget for the Disney World reopening is that some activities and experiences are currently cancelled or postponed. These include:
- Traditional character meet and greets
- Parades
- Fireworks and nighttime shows
- Character dining
- Special ticketed events (including Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party)
#4 Exclusive Character Appearances
So Disney wouldn’t be Disney without a little magic, right?! Even though COVID-19 is changing how we experience the theme parks, the character magic will still very much be alive. We got a special sneak peak into the exclusive character experiences that you won’t want to forget during the Disney World reopening! These will include:
- Cavalcade down Main Street USA (including Merida on horseback!)
- Characters sailing the rivers of Animal Kingdom
- Processions around World Showcase
- Motorcade on Hollywood Boulevard
So keep those eyes and ears open for your favorite characters popping up (at a safe distance) around the theme parks!
#5 Park Hopping Suspended
When planning your next visit, don’t forget that the Disney World reopening will NOT include the ability to Park Hop. That means whatever park you start at for the day, you must stay at! Don’t plan on visiting Magic Kingdom during the day and then hopping on over to Epcot for dinner! (So sad because we used to do that for date night all the time!) Not only will you be unable to enter Epcot, you’ll lose money on your missed Advance Dining Reservation (ADR)!
Those are our top 5 things you don’t want to forget after the Disney World reopening! I hope this helps you make the most of your park experience!
Tune in next week for an all new post! We can’t wait to report on how the reopening goes!
Until then… Cheers!!
