Hello everyone! Today we are going to talk about if one of the new Disney World Annual Passes, the Incredi-Pass, is worth it. Can we still save money even though the pass is $1,299?!
ICYMI, Disney recently announced a new Annual Pass program. This program only offers 4 different passes at varying price points. Unfortunately, the only option that does not include blockout dates and is available for everyone to purchase, is the Incredi-Pass. But this pass comes with a hefty price tag and is missing a lot of the old perks (like PhotoPass being included).
Let’s Do a Little Math (Prices do not include tax)
The new cost for the Incredi-Pass at Disney World is $1,299.00 USD. The pass includes the following perks:
- Admission to all 4 theme parks without blockout dates (park hopping)
- Ability to hold up to 5 Park Pass Reservations
- Standard theme park parking
- Savings on select dining
- Up to 20% off select in store merchandise
The cost for a 10- day ticket (the highest multi-day ticket Disney will sell for a single stay) is $720.24 USD that includes:
- Admission to all 4 theme parks (park hopping)
The difference between the 10-day ticket and the Incredi-Pass is $578.58 USD. The big question now is, can the discounts on dining, merchandise, and parking given to Annual Passholders make up, or better yet surpass, the $578.58 USD difference?
Can the Incredi-Pass Save You Money?
My calculations tell me there are a few instances that may still save you money (but perhaps not much), if you purchase the Incredi-Pass. These are:
1. YOU PURCHASE A LOT OF OFFICIAL DISNEY MERCHANDISE
The Incredi-Pass will give you 20% off official Disney merchandise purchased in store for an entire year. If you purchase upwards of $3,000 USD in Disney merchandise every year, then with the Pass discount, you can save $600 USD. You would not get that discount if you only had the 10-day ticket. Thus, you’ll save about $21.42 USD having the pass as opposed to the 10-day ticket ($600 USD merchandise discount- $578.58 USD difference to buy the Pass = $21.42 USD).
2. YOU TRAVEL TO DISNEY WORLD MORE THAN 14 DAYS IN A YEAR
The numbers calculated above are all based on the 10-day ticket. This is the highest multi-day ticket Disney will sell for a visit to The World in a single stay. Thus, if you plan on visiting Disney World more than 10 days, it will be worth it to consider the Incredi-Pass.
For example, here’s what you’d pay for a ticket (including Park Hopper) if you visited Disney World twice for 7 days each time during a single year:
- Cost for first 7-day ticket: $655.84 USD
- Cost for second 7-day ticket: $655.84 USD
- Cost for all 14 days ($655.84 USD x 2) = $1,311.68 USD
Here’s what you’d save if you purchased the Annual Pass instead:
- Amount saved with Incredi-Pass ($1,311.68 USD tickets – $1,299.00 USD for Pass) = $12.68 USD
That $12.68 is not including any money you’d save with the Incredi-Pass after the dining and merchandise discounts.
3. YOU PLAN VACATIONS AROUND EXCLUSIVE ANNUAL PASS RESORT DISCOUNTS
Special discounts on Disney resorts are available to Passholders during certain times of the year (usually the slower seasons). For example, right now, Passholders can receive up to 25% on Deluxe resort stays this year during the holidays. According to the Disney World website:
Annual Passholders can save up to 25% on rooms at select Disney Resort hotels for stays most nights December 12 through December 24, 2021—during The World’s Most Magical Celebration.
Of course, the percentage off depends upon the resort chosen:
Let’s consider a strictly hypothetical situation (this is just an example)…
A family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children [ages less than 10 yrs]), decides to stay at The Riviera Resort from 12/12/21- 12/19/21. The cost for a Deluxe Studio, preferred view for length of stay is $7,140.41 USD (before tax). Thus,
- A regular ticket holder would pay $7,140.41 USD
- An Annual Passholder would pay $5,355.31USD (after the 25% discount)
The Annual Pass would save you a whopping $1,785.10 USD on the same exact room! That definitely makes the Pass worth it. Here’s the catch, Disney usually releases the Passholder resort discounts only a few months in advance. These are not guaranteed, so you can’t necessarily count on them. Just keep that in mind!
KEEP THIS IN MIND…
Unfortunately, the Incredi-Pass price will not be worth it for a lot of people. However, remember, only 1 person in your family needs the Annual Pass for you to receive the benefits of the dining, merchandise, and resort stay discounts and complimentary theme park parking. Always do the math to see if the Annual Pass is right for you!
We hope this helps to decide is the new Incredi-Pass at Disney World is worth it for you and your family!
Until next time… Cheers!!!
