Hi everyone and happy September!! This week Disney announced the return of Disney World Annual Passes. If you are familiar with the old version, you’ll see some new changes! Let’s get right into it.
Toward the beginning of the COVID pandemic, sales of Disney World Annual Passes were halted. It was expected that Disney would be revamping their Pass offerings. They certainly did! Before, the Annual Pass program had many options and was a bit confusing. However, the new system offers just 4 passes with the option for “add-ons”. The 4 pass options are:
Disney Pixie Dust Pass ($399 + tax; Florida Residents Only)
- Can visit 1 or more Disney World Parks most days with an advance park reservation
- Has blockout dates including holidays and peak times
- Make up to 3 park reservations at a time
Disney Pirate Pass ($699 + tax; Florida Residents Only)
- Can visit 1 or more Disney World Parks most days with an advance park reservation
- Has blockout dates including holidays and peak times
- Make up to 4 park reservations at a time
Disney Sorcerer Pass ($899 + tax; Florida Residents & DVC Members Only)
- Can visit 1 or more Disney World Parks most days with an advance park reservation
- Has blockout dates including holidays and peak times
- Make up to 5 park reservations at a time
Disney Incredi-pass ($1299 + tax; Available to Everyone)
- Can visit 1 or more Disney World Parks most days with an advance park reservation
- No blockout dates
- Make up to 5 park reservations at a time
Add-Ons Available for Any Pass
- Water Park and Sports: If you wish to visit the Disney World water parks, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon, or the ESPN Wide World of Sports you can add this option on to any annual pass. This available for an additional fee.
- Disney Photopass Downloads: Unfortunately, Photopass downloads are no longer included in the cost of any Annual Pass. You can add this option on to any pass for an additional fee.
Benefits of Disney Wold Annual Passes
Disney World Annual Passes come at a hefty price, but what perks are still available if you buy into one? Here is what you can expect to gain as an Annual Passholder:
- Have More Park Reservations: The top 2 Annual Passholders are now allowed to make 5 Disney World Theme Park Reservations at a time. Bonus reservations will be available from time-to-time as well! Annual Passholders will also be able to make Park Reservations for length of stay while at an on-property Disney World Resort Hotel. Taken together, this is very clear evidence that the Disney World Park Park System will not be going anywhere anytime soon! So, be prepared to always have both a ticket and a reservation to be allowed entry to a Disney Theme Park.
- Access a New Integrated Calendar: A brand new calendar is coming to the Park Pass Reservation System that will allow Passholders to see blockout dates (if applicable) and make, modify, or cancel existing reservations.
- Ability to Park Hop: Fortunately, Passholders will still have Park Hopping abilities and can visit more than 1 park in a day!
- Standard Theme Park Parking: This is included in every Pass type.
- Discounts: Passholders will still be able to receive up to 20% off on select Disney dining and merchandise.
