There’s no better way to celebrate a birthday than on a Disney vacation! If you or someone else in your party will be celebrating a birthday during a Disney World trip, here are a few tips to make it more magical. Happy Birthday!
In case you missed it, check out our posts on Disney Springs date night ideas (Part 1 and Part 2).

1. Wear a Pin
I cannot emphasize this one enough! As soon as you get to Disney World, stop by the closest shop and ask the Cast Member for a birthday pin. They are completely free and will really make you feel special on your birthday! Not only will Cast Members and other guests wish you “Happy Birthday,” but you may be in for some special surprises. For instance, my son received a free cookie at the BoardWalk Bakery for his birthday! He still talks about it. Usually table service restaurants present you with a special dessert and signed card!
Pro Tip #1: Be sure to let the travel agent or Cast Member know that you or someone in your party will be celebrating a birthday when booking your trip or making an Advance Dining Reservation (ADR). That way it will be in the system when you arrive!
Pro Tip #2: Be sure to put some clear tape over the personalized portion of your pin! That way the ink won’t rub off during your trip.

2. Order a Cake
If you’re celebrating a birthday at Disney World, you’ll need cake! Cakes and birthdays just go hand in hand, after all. Of course, Disney World has you covered if you need a special cake to celebrate. You can order a cake to be delivered at select restaurants or directly to your hotel room. You can preorder a Mickey Celebration cake (domed cake with Mickey ears on top) by calling (407) WDW-DINE or order in-person at the restaurant check-in. Cakes for room delivery can be made through Disney Dining at (407) 827-2253 with at least 72 hours notice. Cakes through Disney are $35 and feed 4-6 people.
There is also an option to order a delicious cake through Amorette’s Patisserie at Disney Springs! They have a broader range of cake and filling flavors as well as styles. Just be sure to call at least 72 hours in advance by calling (407) 934-3500 or stopping by their store!

3. Have a Gift Delivered
There’s no better way than to surprise the birthday girl or boy with a gift! You can customize a gift through Disney Floral and Gifts and they will deliver it directly to your resort room. There are a variety of items to choose from including sweet and savor snacks, balloons, plushes, mugs, etc. A surprise gift will make a birthday more magical!
4. Decorate!
Celebrating a birthday at Disney World wouldn’t be complete without some decorations! You can bring decorations along with you or have Disney Floral and Gifts do it for you with their in-room celebrations. A lot of guests also decorate the outside of their resort room door for an added festive touch!
5. Do Something Special
Lastly, to make the birthday boy or girl feel special, book an event or ADR that you wouldn’t normally do on a Disney World vacation! If you’re attending in the Fall, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party would be a special birthday treat. If you’ve never dined at Cinderella’s Royal Table or California Grill, that might be a great way to celebrate a birthday! Perhaps your little prince or princess would like a fun make-over at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique?

Celebrating a birthday at Disney World is exceptionally magical! I hope you can use these tips to make it even more special.
Until next time… Cheers!
