We are continuing with the Hollywood Studios date night ideas in Disney World in Part 2 today! In case you missed it, all of the perfect date night dining options were discussed in Part 1. So, let’s delve into the fun things you and your date can do in Hollywood Studios!
Things to Do:
There are several things to do in Hollywood Studios for date night! Some are included in the cost of your theme park ticket while a few require an extra fee. Regardless of your budget, we have the best ideas for you and your significant other to enjoy a memorable evening in Hollywood Studios!
Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party
Fireworks and desserts are the perfect way to end any Hollywood Studios date night in Disney! Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party has both! The event begins in Star Wars Launch Bay with a variety of sweet and savory bites that you enjoy from your reserved seats. Adult beverages are included! After filling up, feel free to roam around to the authentic Star Wars movie props! You and your date will also get to the chance to meet some of those famous characters- from both the light and dark sides. The party continues in a reserved-viewing area to see Disney Movie Magic and Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular in front of the Chinese Theater. And you get to take home a souvenir! The cost per person is $79.00 USD.
Fantasmic!
Fantasmic! is truly a wonderful nighttime spectacle at Hollywood Studios! This show features 50 live performers, magical sets, catchy tunes, and amazing pyrotechnics. You encounter famous Disney Villians, including a 40-foot-tall Maleficent dragon! You can secure a FastPass for this show, but be sure to check out new FastPass+ system information if going after August 29!.
If you’d prefer a prime Fantasmic! viewing experience, Disney serves up 2 options. These are the Fantasmic! dining package or the Fantasmic! Dessert & VIP Viewing Experience. Participating restaurants in the dining package include Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano, Hollywood & Vine, and The Hollywood Brown Derby. For $60 USD per adult, you and your date will each get an entree, dessert, and non-alcoholic beverage or equivalent buffet voucher (Hollywood & Vine is a buffet location). The VIP Experience features sweet treats and then a prime viewing spot for the nighttime show! This will cost $39 USD per person.
Disney After Hours
You and your date can meander through Hollywood Studios for an extra 3 hours after it closes! Enjoy riding the attractions with little to no wait and sink your teeth into the included food offerings (ice cream, popcorn, and beverages!). Disney After Hours runs from 9:30 PM – 12:30 AM EST on select nights through July 2019. Cost is $125 USD per adult.
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Night
I absolutely love The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and it is EVEN BETTER when riding the attraction at night! You and your date will certainly enjoy seeing Hollywood Studios from above. When those doors open for the infamous drop, the park will look entirely different (and dare I say, romantic?!) in the dark. Be sure to get your FastPass+ reservations locked in (and maybe wait a bit if you just ate 🙂 ). Be aware that the FastPass+ structure is changing to a tiered system in Hollywood Studios come August 29th.
Meet Characters
My husband and I always enjoy interacting with the characters at Disney World. There are some that you can only meet in Hollywood Studios! These characters include Edna Mode in Pixar Place (and don’t forget Jack-Jack’s Cookie Num Nums while you’re there!), Mike and Sulley at Walt Disney Presents, and Chewbacca or Kylo Ren at Star Wars Launch Bay. Of course, we can’t everyone’s favorite snowman, Olaf, who gives out warm hugs at the Celebrity Spotlight!
Date Night= Late Night!
Don’t want to end date night after Hollywood Studios closes? Then walk on over to Disney’s Boardwalk and enjoy their late night offerings. You and your date can dance the night away at the Atlantic Dance Hall, enjoy a drink at AbracadaBar, or listen to pianos duel at Jellyrolls.
I hope this helps you plan an epic date night at Hollywood Studios in Disney World!
Until next time- Cheers!!
I didn’t even know Disney after hours was a thing! It sounds way better than being stuck in crowds during peak times.
Not only do you escape the crowds, you can beat the heat! 🙂
