Sunday Snippet: New FastPass+ Tiers for Disney World

It was confirmed this week that new FastPass+ tiers are coming to Disney World, specifically Hollywood Studios! This change to the FastPass+ system will go into effect on August 29, 2019. We’ve got all you need to know in today’s Sunday Snippet!

In case you missed it, be sure to check out our posts from this week on tips & tricks for your Disney World vacation as well as all about Disney’s PhotoPass! Now back to the regularly scheduled snippet… 🙂

New FastPass+ Tiers for Disney World

If August 29th sounds familiar, it is because this is also the day Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens in Disney World! So, it makes sense that Disney would change the FastPass+ structure in Hollywood Studios at this time. However, please note, Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run will NOT be on the FastPass system initially (and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will open later this year). The attractions (rides and shows) will be grouped into 2 Tiers:

Tier 1 (select 1 FastPass+)

Alien Swirling Saucers is a great ride for the entire family!

Tier 2 (select 2 FastPasses)

Star Tours is always a fun attraction!

On August 29th, you can reserve 1 pass from Tier 1 and 2 passes from the attractions listed in Tier 2. It will be difficult to make that coveted selection from Tier 1! I highly recommend Slinky Dog Dash or Alien Swirling Saucers, as they will definitely have long stand by lines. My personal favorite is Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, so I will probably select that one! Regarding selections from Tier 2, you will probably do best with Star Tours- The Adventures Continue and For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration. If you arrive prior to the start time, you will likely get seats for the other shows in Tier 2 without a FastPass.

That’s what you need to know about the new FastPass+ tiers in Disney World! I hope you enjoy your Sunday 🙂 Be sure to check back tomorrow for another full length post!
