Good day everyone! Welcome back to an all new KatDoesDisney post. When traveling to Disney World I am all about convenience. Well, things are about to get easier on your next vacation! You’ll soon be able to use your phone to unlock magic with the new MagicMobile service at Disney World!

Prior to this new perk, guests at Disney World looking for that convenience factor could use their MagicBands (and still can!). These bands allow guests to pay for purchases and access park tickets, their on-property resort room key, and FastPass+ reservations, all in the convenience of a wristband. They are no longer included if you are staying on-property at a Disney World Resort hotel, so you now need to purchase them separately (to read more about MagicBands, see our previous post). Plus, MagicBands are the ultimate theme park accessory!

Pro tip: Don’t forget to use those Bitbelts! They lock your MagicBand in place so you don’t have to worry about losing it!

MagicBands are the ultimate vacation accessory!

However, smart phone users now have another (free!!) option for convenience at Disney World. Via the MagicMobile service, you will be about to unlock all that MagicBand magic with just your phone. No band needed! According to the Disney Parks Blog, all that needed is the MyDisneyExperience app. Through the app, guests will then be able to activate their MagicMobile pass, add it to their mobile digital wallets, and use it around the Resort.

If you’re not sold on the MagicMobile service just yet (or really love MagicBands!), don’t worry! You will be able to switch between both systems.

The MagicMobile service at Disney World will be released in phases this year, likely starting with Apple devices.
