Welcome back to our thrill ride series! Next stop on our list is Magic Kingdom. Now, attractions in this park aren’t really known for their intensity. However, there are a few options (and one on the way) that will certainly add some thrill to your vacation! Let’s dive into the best thrill rides in Disney Magic Kingdom park!

Don’t forget to check out the thrill rides in Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, and Epcot!

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is the “wildest ride in the wilderness!!” Located in FrontierLand, you board a speeding train through a haunted gold mine. There are no loop-de-loops on this coaster-type attraction, but there are fast banks, mild drops, and special effects in the dark! It’s a blast to ride!

Must be 40 in (102 cm) or taller to ride.

Seven Dwarves Mine Train

The newest coaster in Magic Kingdom, Seven Dwarves Mine Train, is located in New Fantasyland! It is an extremely popular attraction with wait times well over one hour on busy day! Thus, I suggest you get your FastPass+ reservations locked in. The Seven Dwarves Mine Train has swaying train cars that make for an incredibly smooth ride. The coaster is also broken into two parts with a dark ride experience through the diamond mines. I happen to love that part! The animatronics are a lot of fun to watch! You’ll certainly feel the wind in your hair as you zoom around the hairpin turns and zip down the drops! Just watch out for that wicked witch…

Must be 38 in (97 cm) or taller to ride.

Space Mountain

I. LOVE. SPACE. MOUNTAIN. Is it the most intense coaster experience, no. However, there is something so magical and fun about riding this coaster in the dark with the twinkling stars and amazing soundtrack! My husband and I laugh like little kids throughout the entire ride. There are drops and hairpin turns that are quite unexpected since you can’t see the track in the dark! This is a must-do for every trip.

Must be 44 in (113 cm) or taller to ride.

Splash Mountain

Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay!! You’re bound to have a great time on Splash Mountain, one of the iconic thrill rides in Disney Magic Kingdom park! This log-flume adventure has been thrilling guests for generations. Sit back and watch 100 adorable Audio-Animatronic animals serinade you through around and over 3 dips. Watch out for the 5-story drop through the Briar Patch! You may just get wet!

Must be 40 in (102 cm) or taller to ride.

The Mountain Challenge

If you’re up for it, you may want to try to conquer the Mountain Challenge! Can you handle all four of these Magic Kingdom thrill rides? If so, then prepare to ride each of these attractions: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Seven Dwarves Mine Train, Space Mountain, and Splash Mountain. This is the ultimte thrill ride bucket list for Disney Magic Kingdom!

Tron Lightcycle Power Run

A brand new rollercoaster, Tron Lightcycle Power Run, is coming to Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland! This new attraction is based off of the highly successful ride in Shanghai Disneyland. Guests will board a 2-wheeled lightcycle (aka: motorcycle) and zoom through the digital grid on this thrilling coaster! Can’t wait for it’s opening in 2021!

Which of these is your favorite at Magic Kingdom? Are you planning on conquering the Mountain Challenge? Tell me in the comments section below!

Until next time… Cheers!!
