Happy Sunday, everyone! Welcome back to our Sunday Snippet series. Anticipation and excitement for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opening at Disney World are building! However, Galaxy’s Edge in both Disneyland and Disney World only have 1 operating attraction, Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run. News of the second attraction finally broke with Disney announcing the Rise of the Resistance opening date!

In case you missed it, check out our posts from earlier this week on the Disney water parks and how to stay cool in Disney World!
Opening Date
Disney promises that Rise of the Resistance will be unlike any other attraction! Galaxy’s Edge guests will traverse the corridors of a Star Destroyer and join an epic battle between the First Order and the Resistance. Guests will even faceoff with Kylo Ren! Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will open Dec 5, 2019, at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Jan 17, 2020, at Disneyland Resort in California.

Rumors
Rumors are spreading like wildfire regarding the reason behind the delay in the Rise of the Resistance opening date. Construction in Disneyland began before Disney World, so it is very interesting that this attraction is opening later in Disneyland (Jan 17, 2020) compared to Disney World (Dec 5, 2019)! One plausible rumor suggests that technical issues were discovered during construction. Since the Disney World version was not as far along, it was easier to fix and move ahead with an opening in 2019. However, the Disneyland version needs a more extensive overhaul, thus pushing the opening date into 2020.
What do you think about the later opening date? Are you eagerly anticipating this new attraction? Tell me in the comments below!
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday! Check back tomorrow for another full length post.
Cheers!!
