Sunday Snippet: Disney World Fourth of July Celebrations

Happy (almost) Fourth of July, everyone! This is one of my favorite holidays and what better way to celebrate than at Disney World? In today’s Sunday Snippet series, we’ll talk about all the Disney World Fourth of July celebrations!

In case you missed them, be sure to check out our posts from earlier this week on the Festival of Fantasy parade in Magic Kingdom. There is also a great article on driving to Disney World overnight. Enjoy!

Fourth of July Celebrations in Magic Kingdom

The festivities actually begin on July 3rd in Magic Kingdom. That’s right folks, you can celebrate for 2 whole days! Magic Kingdom will be open from 8 AM to 12 AM on July 3rd and 8 AM to 1 AM on July 4th.

Fireworks!

Like peanut butter is to jelly, fireworks are to the Fourth of July :). Magic Kingdom is featuring a very special fireworks spectacular, “Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky”. Pyrotechnics will be orchestrated to patriotic tunes beginning at 9:15 PM on both evenings. Don’t worry if you can’t make it to Magic Kingdom to see the show, #DisneyParksLIVE will be live-streaming the event beginning at 9:13 PM on July 4th! Be sure to tune in to the Disney Parks Blog to enjoy the fireworks!

Dance the Night Away

Disney World Fourth of July celebrations continue in Magic Kingdom with 2 patriotic dance parties! Join in the fun at the Hoedown Throwdown in Frontierland and the Galactic Gathering in Tomorrowland.

The Muppets’ Show

Everyone’s favorite muppets are getting in on the action! Kermit, Fozzie, Miss Piggy and gang will be reenacting famous moments in American history in their show, “The Muppets Present … Great Moments in History.” This live show is performed several times daily in Liberty Square near the Hall of Presidents attraction.

Fourth of July Celebrations in Epcot

Epcot will be open from 9 AM to 9 PM on the Fourth of July!

Fireworks Finale!

After an almost 20 year run, the Epcot nighttime spectacular, “Illuminations: Reflections of Earth”, will be retiring to make way for a new show, “Epcot Forever”. We all say goodbye to Illuminations at the end of September, but get to enjoy one last Fourth of July shebang! Immediately following this show will be “The Heartbeat of Freedom” fireworks pyrotechnic finale.

Voices of Liberty

The a cappella group, Voices of Liberty, will be performing patriotic melodies in during their special 4th of July concert. Showtimes at the America Gardens Theater are 5:30 PM, 6:45 PM, and 8 PM on July 4th. Additionally, the group will perform inside The American Adventure pavilion at 2 PM and 3 PM. Be sure to check them out. You won’t be disappointed!

Characters in Patriotic Attire

Disney World Fourth of July celebrations wouldn’t be complete without the characters getting dressed up! Visit The Adventure Pavilion to meet characters in their “Spirit of ’76” patriotic attire. Meet and greets will be occurring throughout the day on July 4th!

Red, White, and Blue Treats

Be on the lookout for patriotic treats in the Disney World parks! Specialty treats and sips will be available throughout the day on the Fourth of July. Rumor has it red, white, and blue cupcakes, sangria, and Boom Berry Lemonade will be making an appearance! Yum!
