Happy Sunday, everyone! Welcome back to today’s Snippet installment. Every other year, Disney holds the fan event, D23 Exposition (or Expo), in Anaheim, California. This year, the event began on August 23, 2019 and ends today (August 25, 2019). One of the items I am most excited to hear about is the overhaul to the Epcot theme park in Disney World. This is my family’s favorite park, but it is in need of some TLC. So, here are the biggest D23 Epcot Announcements!

In case you missed them, be sure to check out our posts from the week on date night in Disney Springs (Part 1 and Part 2)! Now back to Epcot…

1. New Logos

Disney is going back to Epcot’s roots and taking inspiration from the logos released in the 1970s. The new Epcot logo will feature the original 5 rings representing information, technology, environment, education, and entertainment. All of which are present in this wonderful Disney theme park. In addition to the new Epcot logo, each pavilion will also receive its own symbol! Visit the D23 page to see these new logos!

2. Moana-Inspired Attraction

Another major announcement at D23 was for a brand new water attraction at Epcot! For the first time a Disney park will feature an attraction dedicated to the hit animated movie, Moana. Here, guests will interact with living water in a magical Polynesian setting. This is not a ride, but rather a walk through attraction taking the place of Innoventions West. In addition to interactive water features, there will be a child-friendly maze to keep the little ones occupied!

3. Festival Center

It is clear from the concept art that Innoventions West is going to be completely removed! In its place will be the Moana attraction as well as a brand new Festival Center. Given that Epcot hosts specialty festivals year-round, it makes sense to have a new, permanent feature. This three-story structure will be a centerpiece in FutureWorld and a great central location for the festivals!

4. Mary Poppins is Coming!

Remember we were waiting for a new announcement?! Well, turns out Mary Poppins will be making her first ever Disney Parks debut in the UK pavilion! Not many details were provided, but this pavilion will receive an overhaul to feature Cherry Tree Lane, straight from the classic movies! The new Mary Poppins attraction will be in this Cherry Tree Lane area. Hopefully we learn more soon! Meanwhile, here’s a great video from the D23 Expo:

These D23 Epcot announcements are going to breathe fresh air into this Disney Park! Are you as eager for this overhaul as I am?! Tell me what you are most excited for in the comments!

Don’t forget to tune in tomorrow for another full length post! Until then, cheers!
