If you’re staying on Disney property, you’ll definitely want to make sure you get the best room and resort amenities for your vacation needs! Thus, today’s post will be all about our best tips for making the most of your Disney World Resort Hotel stay!

#1 Room Requests
Disney World Resort Hotels are BIG so there is a lot to consider before making your reservation. Depending upon your needs, you may prefer to be located near an elevator, transportation, pools, or even the main lobby. You may also prefer to have a room with a King bed or maybe even bunk beds! There are a few ways to get the rooms that are best suited for your vacation needs.
Most Disney World Resort Hotels price out their rooms based on views (garden, pool, park, etc.). So if there is a room you want that is view-specific, definitely book that view. Now, for Value and Moderate hotels, they actual have a “Preferred Room” booking option. These are for rooms that are closer to the main lobby and require less walking compared to non-preferred rooms. You can also request items for your room! Common items include cribs, bed rails, high chairs, connecting rooms, etc.
Sometimes, Disney will honor certain room requests that are made. You can make these requests either (1) through the online check-in service or (2) by calling Disney directly. WDW Prep School has an extensive article about all of these requests.
#2 Be Aware of Refurbishment Schedules
I feel like at least one Disney World Resort Hotel is undergoing construction at any given time! If you don’t want to be bothered by the sites and sounds that accompany refurbishment, be sure to check out the schedule before booking your vacation. #3 Do the Research
One of our best tips for making the most of your Disney World Resort Hotel stay is to do the research before booking. There are so many hotels to choose from that deciding can be a daunting task! So make sure you know some vital information that will make the process easier. You’ll want to know:
- the different types of hotels (value, moderate, deluxe, villas)
- what amenities are available
- the resort hotel locations
- look at resort locations
- types of transportations available
