More Disney Activities for Keeping Kids Busy

Hello again and welcome back to another week of staying-at-home with KatDoesDisney! I don’t know about you, but I am in desperate need of ideas to keep my kid (and the kids at heart) busy while practicing social distancing. Thus, I’m bringing you more Disney activities for keeping kids busy!

Stay tuned to the end for a special activity for your canine furbabies!

Be sure to check out a previous post with other Disney-themed kiddie activities! Or even read more on creating Disney magic at home!

Watch or Host a Disney Family Singalong

Recently, ABC aired the first episode of the Disney Family Singalong! Don’t worry, you can still see it on ABC.com or Disney+. So, gather the kids, pull up a chair, and watch as your favorite celebrities take on popular Disney tunes! If you’re in a really creative mood, why not make your own family singalong video and send it to your family and friends? It’ll be a great project for the family and sure to bring smiles to everyone’s faces!

Have Fun on the Play Disney Parks Mobile App

Did you know you can still access the Play Disney Parks mobile app even if you’re not on Disney World or Disneyland property? That’s right! You and your whole family can enjoy some game time with added Disney magic!

Color Disney Coloring Pages

What kid or kid-at-heart doesn’t love to color their own masterpiece? Crayola.com has some wonderful (FREE) coloring pages with all of your favorite Disney characters.

Check Out Walt Disney Animation Studios on YouTube

As a result of our social distancing and stay-at-home orders, our screen time limit has gone out the window. Besides Disney+ streaming, YouTube is our next best friend. Walt Disney Animation Studios has their own channel with a nice mix of animated shorts, featurettes, behind the scenes, drawing tutorials and more! We are loving the latest animated shorts with Olaf 🙂 How many of you can relate to “Hide and Seek” at Home with Olaf?!

Watch and be Inspired by Bluey

Bluey, an Australian cartoon about a family of dogs, is our latest obsession. It is a wonderful, feel good show that everyone is sure to enjoy. I can’t believe I’m going to admit this, but… my husband and I actually watch episodes at night by ourselves! Bluey is THAT amazing. What’s really great is that Bluey and her family play all sorts of pretend games that you can easily create right at home. Why not play a rowdy game of “Keepy Uppy” or pretend to drive a taxi? You can access the show on Disney+, the ABC Kids app, see episodes on YouTube, or watch clips for free on their official website.

Canine Furbaby Bonus!

I know this isn’t Disney related, but even our canine furbabies can feel couped up during social distancing! Here’s a way to keep them entertained as well… try playing a stimulating game of hide and seek with their favorite treats. You and your family can hide treats in one room and then watch your furbaby try to sniff and find them all! We adopted a senior dog and he wasn’t able to always get outside, so I came up with this game to keep his mind busy. It worked like a charm and we all loved playing it! I’d even drag the treat along the floor to the hiding spot and watch my pup follow the scent trail.

Pro tip: Hide carrot pieces if you’re concerned about your canine’s caloric intake 😉

That’s all for now folks! I hope these ideas help you and your family while social distancing.

Check back next week for an all new post. Until then, stay safe and healthy.

Cheers!!
