Hi all and welcome to another week of KatDoesDisney! ICYMI, Disney announced the new Genie service that will enhance and streamline the guest experience at the Theme Parks. Do you know the most up-to-date information? Well, let’s talk about Disney Genie and everything associated with this new service that launches on October 19, 2021.

Disney Genie, Genie+, and Lightening Lane
Starting next week (10/19/21), Disney will be launching its brand new service, Genie, that is complimentary for all guests. In a nutshell, it is a virtual vacation planner that will generate a personalized itinerary based on selected interests.
There are two options that guests can add on to the Genie service. For $15 per person per day in Disney World ($20 per person per day in Disneyland), guests may also enjoy the Genie+ service. This will give them access to the Lightening Lane (rebranded FastPass lanes) for over 40 attractions in The World. Like FastPass+, guests that pay for Genie+ will be able to schedule times to ride their favorite attractions with little to no wait. Guests may also choose to purchase individual Lightening Lane access for the most popular attractions in each park. More on these services below…

Pricing for Individual Lightening Lane Access
Now, the pricing for Individual Lightening Lane access was a mystery for a while, but we finally have some answers! According to the Disney website:
Prices will vary by date, attraction and park. For example, the Lightning Lane entrance to Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure will be $9 per person on October 19 and $11 per person on October 23. As another example, on both those dates, Lightning Lane entrance to Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain will be $7 per person, while Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will be $15 per person. Throughout the year, prices may be lower on some days and higher on other days. This option may be purchased at up to 2 different attractions each day.

When can Genie+ be purchased?
Guests can purchase Genie+ as an add-on to a ticket or vacation package prior to arrival. Genie+ is available for purchase for length of stay. This service can also be purchased as a single-day experience through the My Disney Experience App.
Is This Included in the Annual Pass?
As of right now, Genie+ and Individual Lightening Lane Access are not included in the Annual Passes.
When Can I Schedule Genie+ or Individual Lightening Lane Access?
All guests can schedule their first Genie+ attraction beginning at 7 AM for that day. Guests staying at the Walt Disney World Resort Hotels or Affiliated Hotels, can schedule their first Individual Lightening Lane access beginning at 7 AM for that day. All other guests can make their Individual Lightening Lane selections beginning at each park opening time.
