Date night at Disney World is so much fun! Today, I’ll be continuing in the series of Epcot date night ideas in Disney World. I can’t wait to share with you everything there is to do in this theme park for an epic date! If you haven’t already, be sure to check out Part 1 from last week!
Date Night Things To Do
See the Fireworks
The fireworks shows at the Disney Theme Parks are unmatched! The ones at Epcot are certainly no exception. The current nighttime spectacular show is Illuminations: Reflections of Earth. However, Sept. 30, 2019 is the last performance and on Oct. 1, 2019 Disney will debut Epcot Forever. This new installment will feature fireworks, lasers, music, and magical kites! It’s also a great way to add a little romance to your date night!
Frozen Ever After Dessert Party
As mentioned, the fireworks at Epcot are something you just shouldn’t miss! I love the Frozen Ever After Dessert Party because it gives you an outstanding place to view the nighttime show, great food and drink to enjoy, and a ride on the ever popular Frozen Ever After attraction! Alcoholic and specialty beverages are included along with tasty desserts such as Kristoff’s Kransekake Almond Cookie, Elsa’s Blue Velvet Cupcakes, Troll Rock Crispy Bon Bons, Freeze Fried Salted Caramel Popcorn, and Olaf’s Warm Double Chocolate S’mores Pudding Cake. The cost is $79 USD per adult (10+ years old) and $47 USD per child (3-9 years old). Regular admission to Epcot is also required. Be sure to make your reservations for this special Dessert party online!
Meet Characters
Meeting characters is a great idea for date night in Epcot. Meet and greets locations are all over Epcot and are fun even without the kiddos! I highly recommend getting FastPasses to meet Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy at the Epcot Character Spot located in Future World. Additionally, right across the way are meet and greets for Baymax and Joy and Sadness. My husband and I love meeting Joy and Sadness- they are so much fun to interact with! One of the newest locations is inside ImageWorks where you can see Ralph and Vanellope. If you are a Disney Visa Cardmember, be sure to check out their exclusive character experience! We always enjoy the Visa experience because there is no rush since the line is short. You can actually take your time interacting with the surprise characters! This exclusive meet and greet runs daily from 1-7 PM EST.
Festival-Specific Shows and Concerts
If you are visiting during a special Epcot Festival, be sure to check out the shows and concerts! This is a great way to add more magic to your Epcot date night. I highly, highly recommend the Eat to the Beat concert series during the International Food & Wine Festival (see the Sunday Snippet for more 2019 details!). The International Festival of the Holidays is KNOWN for the Candlelight Processional. During this special event, a celebrity narrator tells the Christmas story complete with a full orchestra and choir! Special dining packages are available so that you can enjoy a meal at a great Epcot restaurant and secure seating for one of these shows! This is a can’t miss and one of the greatest Epcot date night ideas in Disney World.
Go Where the Wind Takes You
In general, Epcot is one of those theme parks that is fun to just stroll around and take in the sights. My husband and I have done date night with just dinner reservations and no other particular plans! Once the sun sets and the lights come on, the ambience changes and becomes very romantic. We enjoy doing some window shopping or grabbing a drink and sitting on one of the the benches by World Showcase Lagoon. It is very relaxing and offers a wonderful change in pace from the rest of our vacation.
After Hours Fun!
If you want to continue date night beyond Epcot, The Boardwalk is a quick walk through the International Gateway! It is home to some of the best food and entertainment that goes well into the wee hours of the night. For example, open until 2 AM EST is Jellyrolls, a very popular dueling piano bar. Want to dance the night away? Look no further because the Atlantic Dance Hall is a nightclub that plays hits from the 80s, 90s, and today! Both Jellyrolls and the Atlantic Dance Hall are open to guests 21 years of age and over in the evening! Finally, be sure to check out AbracadaBar, a cocktail lounge that serves up curious libations in an atmosphere filled with show posters, magic mirrors, and vintage props and tricks!
I hope you have some great ideas for a memorable date night in Epcot! Enjoy!
Cheers!!
