Welcome to another blog post! Today we are going to be continuing our date night series with things to do in Animal Kingdom! There are a lot of unique experiences you and your significant other can have since this is such a unique theme park. So strap on your safari gear and let’s talk about Animal Kingdom date night ideas in Disney World!

Meet Safari Mickey & Minnie
Meeting characters is a lot of fun, even on date night! This meet and greet is unique to the Animal Kingdom park, so be sure to wander on over to the Adventurers Outpost. Not only do you get to meet Mickey and Minnie together, but they will be showing off their safari outfits! If you happen to see them during the holiday season, Mickey and Minnie will be rockin’ some pretty festive outfits instead. I highly recommend securing a FastPass as lines can get pretty long to meet this famous couple.
Animal Kingdom After Hours
Animal Kingdom transforms at night, so there is more to see and experience in the evening! If you and your date are looking for a more exclusive feel to your date, then consider Disney After Hours. Now through September 23, 2019, you and your significant other can take your time and relax with exploring the park! For $125 USD per person, you get to experience attractions with little to no wait and enjoy included popcorn, ice cream, and select beverages!
See a Show (or three!)
There are actually some really great (dare I say, Broadway-level?!) shows offered at Animal Kingdom. They would definitely add a magical touch to your date night!
Finding Nemo- The Musical
Finding Nemo- The Musical is a great rendition of the insanely popular animated movie! This is a whimsical, musical version of Finding Nemo. The show includes live actors, incredible puppets, and really fun special effects. The latest showing is typically at 4:30PM, so this could be the best “appetizer” to your date night!
Festival of the Lion King
This is definitely as close to Broadway as you can get in a theme park! Festival of the Lion King is an immersive experience filled with performances by dancers, puppets, acrobats, and even a fire dancer. You and your date will be clapping and singing along to Lion King classics such as “Hakuna Matata” and “Circle of Life”. Be sure to snag a FastPass to this very popular show!
Rivers of Light: We Are One
This nighttime spectacular, Rivers of Light: We Are One, was recently reimagined in Animal Kingdom. The show features live-action from Disneynature movies as well as animal-inspired movies including The Lion King. Rivers of Light takes place on, you guessed, it a river! There are some really neat lanterns that float along and light up to the catchy musical score. FastPasses are available as are dining packages (at Tusker House Restaurant or Tiffins- be sure to read Part 1 for information on these locations!).
Savor the Savanna
Savor the Savanna: An Evening Safari Experience is the deluxe way to spend your date night in Animal Kingdom. For $169 USD per person, you and your date will be treated to an evening on the African Savannah. This event begins with a trip through the safari that stops at a private viewing area. Your guide will tell you everything there is to know about Animal Kingdom’s safari experience and answer any questions you may have! Additionally, you and your date will be treated to African-inspired tapas along with a selection of beverages (including beer and wine offerings). Finally, you’ll get a keepsake to take home as a memory of this date night!
